The SIDS Forum is leading International Resource Mobilisation Initiatives which pursue high-level engagement with prospective partners and donors to mobilise both domestic and international climate and biodiversity financing for SIDS.

A new initiative to support funding biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in SIDS across Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, was recently presented at a dedicated side event during the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference - Nice, France (12 June, 2025).

The side-event "Innovative approaches to support the sustainable use and conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity in SIDS", hosted by the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and key partners supporting SIDS located in the three regions, focused on how to finance biodiversity and environmental sustainability in SIDS by identifying and activating innovative ways to mobilise financial resources.
